ROTC


Patch High School
 ROTC is an elective course.  It is offered as JROTC I, JROTC II, JROTC III, and JROTC IV, and a student can take ROTC classes all four years of high school.  It emphasizes leadership and teaches students useful army skills.  Each year they have a ball and students participate in the procedures of a formal military function.  Students can also participate in such things as rifle team and drill team.

ARMY JROTC I 
GRADE LEVEL 9-12
LENGTH OF COURSE 36 WEEKS
PREREQUISITE NONE
The JROTC I program is an introduction to leadership development, JROTC and the Army. Activities will include map reading, drills, weapon firing, weapons safety, marksmanship, hygiene, First Aid, and an introduction to basic military skills.

ARMY JROTC II 
GRADE LEVEL 10-12
LENGTH OF COURSE 36 WEEKS
PREREQUISITE JROTC I
JROTC II is a course in intermediate leadership development. It will include intermediate map reading, marksmanship, and the methods of instruction. Also included will be battalion organization, leadership theory, and the U.S. Army, people, places, and times.

ARMY JROTC III 
GRADE LEVEL 11-12
LENGTH OF COURSE 36 WEEKS
PREREQUISITE JROTC II
JROTC III is a course in advanced leadership development. This advanced course builds on those skills developed in Levels I and II. Information concerning service opportunities will also be provided.

LENGTH OF COURSE 36 WEEKS
PREREQUISITE JROTCIII
The JROTC IV program is a course in advanced leadership development. This advanced course continues to build on all skills developed in Levels I-III. Drills and ceremonies, advanced communications, self-study, staff functions and procedures, and assumption of key
leadership positions are emphasized in JROTC IV.
